First, sorry my bad english.I hope you can understand me.
Im looking for the seaman LREM John Prosser. He stayed visiting Mar del Plata, Argentine, in 1964, with the HMS Dunkirk. In that time I was visiting the ship and I knew Mr. Prosser. I showed the city with a friend and we were talking about Glasgow and the sealife. He helped us in our english learning.
I wish I could to contact with Mr. Prosser.
If you can help me Ill be sincerely gratefully.
Sorry if my asking make troubles for you. Thanks.

Ships Crest/Cap Ribbon
I was on Dunkirk from May 1959 to November 1961 and like all of us failed to keep any momentoes from my time aboard. Now I am looking for a cap ribbon (for me) and a good photo of the ships crest (for my web site). I have a small thumbnail but need a full size. If anyone has an original crest then please get in touch. More details of the Battles can be found on the oldships web site.

Tobacco
I was on H.M S.Dunkirk been around April 1953 the stokers advancement course. We had run out of stuff to smoke when I came across a tin of tobacco in my locker.I had put an onion in it to keep it moist. It was powerful stuff.Any one who tried it was speechless next day but it served it's purpose.I am Andrew C.Mitchell PSKX 914718.Only other lad I can recall was a Frankie Howard a lad from Willesden London. He was a Chatam rating.it,s a long time ago.
Andrra.

Last Battle Class to be scrapped
The last two Battle Class to be scrapped were Barrosa and Matapan both in 1978. The honour could go to either as no month or where they were scapped is given

I served abaord Duncan in 1961 which was commanded by Captain Gordon Cunningham Leslie R.N. who was No.1 aboard Petard during the war, he was some character and was a Commodore, in H.M.S. Drake in 1965 and may have made Admiral!

I have recently read a book of Petards' 1st Commssion (now returned to the Library)so I can't recall too many names but try it.Fighting Destroyer - H.M.S. Petard 1st Commission
G.G.Connell - Crecy Books 1994
By the way the Barrosa was broken up at Blyth in December 1978 and Matapan arrived at Blyth in August 1979. I was an REM on Dunkirk when you were a bosuns mate along with Danny Bartlett ( a great mate of mine). I think your QM was Donkey Bray?

I served on Dunkirk as an REM when you were a bosuns mate along with my pal Danny Bartlett. I think your QM was Donkey Bray. Anyway to clear up your breaking up dates. Barrosa arrived at Blyth and was broken up in December 1978. Mata pan lasted a bit longer arriving on 11th August 1979. Matapan was the longest serving of them all with 34 years! With regard to Petard I just recently read a good account of her 1st Commission - Fighting Destroyer - H.M.S. Petard 1st Commission
G.G.Connell - Crecy Books 1994
Did you ever hear anything of Danny, I last saw him in Gib in 1961 when he was on Mamxman

Thanks for clearing up 'The Last Battle Saga' Robbie. My Quartermaster was Able Seaman. R.P. Ron Winmill almost a Towny of mine (Penarth 6 miles from Barry)
Used to see him every weekday in the late 60's when I was a milkman and Ron a Postman. Best Regards Taff.
