Posted by Richard Stewart on 30 June 2008 Ships Crest/Cap Ribbon I was on Dunkirk from May 1959 to November 1961 and like all of us failed to keep any momentoes from my time aboard. Now I am looking for a cap ribbon (for me) and a good photo of the ships crest (for my web site). I have a small thumbnail but need a full size. Posted by Robbie Perrin on 22 June 2008 Tobacco I was on H.M S.Dunkirk been around April 1953 the stokers advancement course.We had run out of stuff to smoke when I came across a tin of tobacco in my locker.I had put an onion in it to keep it moist.It was powerful stuff.Any one who tried it was speechless next day but it served it's purpose.I am Andrew C.Mitchell PSKX 914718.Only other lad I can recall was a Frankie Howard a lad from Willesden London.He was a Chatam rating.it,s a long time ago. Im looking for the seaman LREM John Prosser. He stayed visiting Mar del Plata, Argentine, in 1964, with the HMS Dunkirk. In that time I was visiting the ship and I knew Mr. Prosser. I showed the city with a friend and we were talking about Glasgow and the sealife. He helped us in our english learning.
I wish I could to contact with Mr. Prosser.
If you can help me Ill be sincerely gratefully.
