1947/49 Commission

Initially we had one crew member from this commission, Dennis Hatcher, who was a stoker .

I am pleased to announce that another crew member from this time has been in touch. His name is Roy Scowcroft and served as Q M 3 in mess 4 the crew photograph is by courtesy of Roy.

We were on exercises in the North Sea. We were testing a new pipe for transferring oil from the supply ship to the Dunkirk, so this was taken on the exercise. The pipe broke and we were covered from stem to stern in oil. Clear lower deck was piped, and all hands had cotton waste given to them to clear it all up, happy days!
